Granville is back

Just a quick note to welcome back Albin aka "Granville" from his holidays.
Albin has arrived back safe and sound from his Holiday in Hungary.

Looking a bit tired and in need of some good home cooked food Albin departed for his native Hungary almost 3 weeks ago now and despite a hitch with easyjet arrived back at the Halls this morning looking very much refreshed and well fed thanks to his Mums goulash. Albin has also armed himself with some native spices and has threatened to cook up a home-made goulash in the Halls kitchen.
We can't wait Albin!!!

Mick's camera woe

Mick "SLR" Dolan has hit a snag in his quest to become photographer of the year. After hours and hours of fun pointing the lens at anyone that moves the batteries finally gave way and Mick found himself at a loss. Not knowing what to do next Mick turned his attentions to acquiring the props that are needed for the performance and having struck up a deal for a couple of privet hedges and a chamomile lawn Mick retired for the day and the paparazzi slept easy that night safe in the knowledge that Mick "SLR" Dolan has hung up his camera for the time being.

Sunday rehearsals were also a chance to photograph the cast in all their splendor!! So wearing Sunday best everyone joyfully turned up at 11am sharp, struck their pose then continued to negotiate some not so easy to remember lines or even words (in some cases).
Roy Hall also agreed to be an honoury treasurer acting as a go between between the cast and crew and the Halls management, collating receipts and invoices plus ticket sales information to hopefully produce an accurate profit and loss account for the company.
We all take this time to welcome Roy to the company.

Rehearsals

Perhaps Armour Plated Halo and Mrs Hall would like to share their views with us about the rehearsals so far? I trust you have both attended?

I see Mick "SLR" Dolan has displayed some of his recent work in the foyer. I must say it is refreshing to see such young talent ( all be it very raw )from within the company having a chance to reach out from backstage and drop ice cubes down the vest of a potential audience (figuratively speaking) . Please give us your views. Tell us what you think.

Mick Dolan finally joined the digital age on Tuesday as he got to grips with the latest digital camera that the Halls had to offer. Looking baffled at first Mick finally found the on switch and bingo there was no stopping him.
As rehearsals continued well into the night Mick was there camera at the ready, ready to capture the more embarrassing moments of the nights occasions. However, it was not without it's problems. Michael found that there was more to photography than than just the click of a button!! (all be it the correct button now!).
He found you needed a steady hand. Not something that Mick is reknowned for in theatre circles or any circles for that matter as his early attempts demonstrated.

But Mick (our in house stage manager) was not to be put off easily and persisted but the steady hands eluded him. Another stumbling block was focusing, but this was late on in the day, we knew Mick struggled with bleary eye syndrome early in the morning so this new discovery was a potential threat to any future photographic aspirations that he may have had.

Next rehearsals are on Sunday and Mick promises us he has some new techniques at his disposal and coupled with the fact he has found out where the buttons are on the camera he aims to surprise all of us.

Mick's work will be available in the foyer during the intervals and at the end of each show!!!
He also plans to exhibit is work in the Southdown Room later on in the year!! We will keep you posted.
